Verified brides and grooms
The biggest question in a marriage search is whether someone is who they say they are. ShadiMaker profiles show which steps have been checked, so families can move forward with their eyes open.
What it is
Submit a birth registration certificate or National ID card (NID) and our team usually checks it within 1–2 working days. If the name and date of birth match your profile, a green "Verified" badge appears. Many members search with "Verified only", so the badge also puts you on their lists.
Your profile also shows how many steps you have completed, for example "3/5 steps verified". The steps are email verified, phone verified (our team spoke to you on your number), identity verified, education certificate verified and guardian confirmed (our team spoke to your guardian). Accounts opened without an email count four steps.
The Verification card on your dashboard shows which steps are left and how to complete them. Changing your phone or your guardian's number makes that step pending again, so an old confirmation doesn't carry over to a new number.
Education certificates are checked separately. In the Education part of Edit profile you can add a certificate or mark sheet to each exam or degree. Once our team checks it, that qualification shows a "certificate verified" mark, and one checked certificate completes the education step. Other members never see the certificate itself.
Who it's for
- Members who want families to trust their profile
- People who only want to talk to checked profiles
- Profiles run by a guardian
- Members abroad whose families can't meet them in person
How it works
Open the Verification page
It's in the dashboard menu.
Enter the document number
Birth certificate or NID, in Bangla or English digits.
Upload a photo or PDF
Name, date of birth and number must be clear.
Wait for the result
You'll get approval, or the reason if it fails, by notification and email.
Why it's safe
No other member ever sees your document. It is kept in a separate private store and can't be opened through any link on the website. Only authorised admins can view it, through a special link that works for a few minutes, and every view is in the audit log.
Verified only means the identity matched. It isn't a guarantee of everything on a profile, so families should still make their own enquiries before a marriage.
General question
Does verification cost anything?
No, identity verification is free.
Which documents can I use?
A birth registration certificate or NID, either one. Photo or PDF, up to 5 MB.
How long does it take?
Usually 1–2 working days. You're told the result by notification and email.
What does "3/5 steps verified" mean?
Three of the five steps are complete. The profile also shows which ones.
What if it's rejected?
You're told why, for example a blurred photo or a name that didn't match. Fix it and submit again.
Can I change my date of birth after verification?
No. If it's wrong, open a support ticket.
