Marriage contact through a guardian
A marriage joins two families as well as two people. So every ShadiMaker profile has a guardian's number, and the way forward runs through the family.
What it is
Your profile needs your guardian's mobile number and your relationship, such as father, mother, brother or uncle. The number isn't shown on your profile. When another family sends a contact request and you approve it, they get the number and can talk to your guardian directly.
With the member's consent, a parent, guardian or sibling can open and run the whole profile. The profile shows who manages it, and search can pick out guardian-managed profiles. Many practising families are most comfortable searching this way.
When our team confirms with the guardian by phone, the profile shows "Guardian confirmed". Changing the number or relationship cancels that step. Give a real guardian's number only: a friend's, colleague's, cousin's or your own leads to a permanent ban.
You also decide who may ask. With "after my approval" you judge each request yourself; with verified members only, just members with a checked identity can ask; or you can open the number as soon as an interest is accepted. There is also an option to show it to nobody, so choose what suits your family.
Who it's for
- Families who want to talk before the two people do
- Those who want a guardian or wali involved, in keeping with Islamic values
- Parents running a profile for a son or daughter
- Brides who want the first conversation to be with their family
How it works
Add your guardian's number
Enter the number and relationship under Family details.
Choose your contact setting
Decide who may send a request.
Approve a request
If you agree, approve it; if not, the number stays private.
Let the families talk
The two families talk directly.
Why it's safe
The guardian's number is stored encrypted, and no member sees it without your approval. It isn't sent to our AI review either. You can also allow requests from verified members only, or show the number to nobody.
Hold the first meeting in a public place with family present. ShadiMaker staff never ask for money, passwords or codes by phone or message. If someone does, don't give them and report it.
General question
Why do I have to give a guardian's number?
To keep your family involved. After you approve, the other family can talk on this number; nobody sees it before that.
Can my parents run my profile?
Yes, with your consent. The profile shows who runs it.
Can I give a brother's or uncle's number?
Yes, if he is your real guardian. Not a friend, colleague, cousin or your own number.
What does "Guardian confirmed" mean?
Our team spoke to the guardian by phone and confirmed.
Do I have to share the number if someone asks?
No. Unless you approve, it stays private.
