Matched bride and groom suggestions

You don't need to go through hundreds of profiles one by one. ShadiMaker compares your preferences and theirs, picks suitable profiles for you and tells you why each one fits.

What it is

Most of the time in a marriage search goes on profiles that were never going to fit. Suggestions save that time. The Suggestions page has three parts: today's suggestions, new members from the last two weeks, and profiles close to your division or district.

The match works in both directions. Their details are compared with what you want, and yours with what they want: age, height, area, education, occupation, marital status and religious practice. The kinds of profiles you view, shortlist or send interest to also count, and so does how close your "hopes and dreams" and "what I expect from a partner" are to theirs.

Each suggestion shows a match percentage, followed by a few reasons such as the same district or fitting education. The percentage only measures how well your preferences and details fit each other. Verified and complete profiles get a small lift in the list, but that isn't counted in the percentage. The list is refreshed every day, and the best suggestions are emailed once a week.

Who it's for

  • People without time to read many profiles
  • Parents or guardians searching for a son or daughter
  • Members abroad looking for someone from their own district
  • Anyone who wants to know why a profile suits them

How it works

  1. Create a free profile

Fill in your details. The more complete they are, the better the suggestions.

  2. Describe your preferred partner

Be clear about age, education, area and expectations.

  3. Wait for approval

After approval, your list appears on the Suggestions page.

  4. Read the reasons, then send interest

Check the percentage and reasons, talk with your family, then send interest.

Why it's safe

Reasons never mention sensitive things such as complexion, income or special categories. People you declined, people who declined you and people you blocked or reported no longer appear.

A suggestion is only a suggestion. A high percentage doesn't promise a marriage, and you never have to accept one. The decision is always yours and your family's.

General question

How is the match percentage worked out?

Your preferences are compared with their details and theirs with yours, along with what you both wrote about your expectations. The lift for verified or complete profiles isn't included.

How often do suggestions change?

The list is refreshed every day, and suggestions are emailed once a week. You can turn the email off in Settings.

Do I have to pay for suggestions?

No. Creating a profile and seeing suggestions are free.

What if I don't like my suggestions?

Describe your preferred partner more clearly. The list also slowly follows the kinds of profiles you view and shortlist.

Can other members see that I got their profile as a suggestion?

No. Only you see your suggestions.
