Privacy & contact guide

You decide who sees your photos, phone number, address and income. What each setting does, how contact requests work and how to hide your profile — all in one place.

1.Always private

  • Your full name — others see only the first part
  • Photos of your birth certificate, NID and education certificates — no member ever sees them
  • Profile pages are not shown in search engines (Google etc.)
  • Free-text fields can't contain phone numbers, emails or links, so nothing is published by mistake

2.Who sees your photos

Under “Privacy” in Edit profile, “Who sees photos”:

  • Everyone
  • Logged-in members
  • Only people whose interest I accepted

Without permission, a placeholder shows instead of the photo. The same rule covers your profile picture and gallery.

3.Who sees your phone and email

SettingWhat happens
Once an interest is acceptedSomeone whose interest you accepted (or who accepted yours) sees it without asking
After my approval (default)Members send a request; they see it only if you approve
Only verified members, after my approvalOnly verified members can send a request, and you still approve it
Show no oneNo one sees it and requests can't be sent

Your guardian's number follows the same rule. The number of a matchmaker-managed profile is never shown this way — there, contact details are shared only once both sides of a proposal agree.

4.Contact requests

When someone asks for your number, the request appears on your “Notifications” page. If you “approve”, they see your contact details; if you say no, they don't, and they aren't told your answer. Check their profile and your conversation before approving.

5.Address and income

  • On your profile everyone sees only the thana/upazila, district and division
  • Village, house and landmark, and your family members' names, are shown only after an interest is accepted
  • With “Show monthly income” off, “hidden by the member” shows instead of your income

6.Hiding your profile

Need a break? Turn on “Hide profile temporarily” in Settings or Edit profile. Your profile then won't appear in search or suggestions, but earlier conversations remain. Turn it off and your profile is back. To close or delete your account for good, see Closing or deleting your account.

7.A profile posted without permission

If you think your profile or a family member's was posted without permission, or you want it hidden, corrected or deleted, fill in the request about a profile form — no account needed. If it is a matchmaker-managed profile, it is hidden at once; our team then checks the request.
